RON AND WANDA BOURQUE are deeply rooted in the oilfield industry. In the early 80’s, Ron was working as the district manager for G. H. Foster when the owner approached him with a proposition. He wanted individual location managers to take ownership and become distributors of their products. Thus, Bourque Sales and Service (BSS) was created. Today, they are leading the pack with high quality American-made goods.

Ron Bourque says proudly, “We only sell products that are made in the U.S. and stay away from the foreign influx, which is often made poorly.” He believes that a company doesn’t prosper without good materials and loyal employees. “We have been blessed with an outstanding and hardworking crew,” he states with a smile.

BSS has survived the ups and downs of the industry over the past 25 years. It is still a family business with Ron’s son, Scott Bourque, running the company and daughter, Natalie Mhire, handling the accounting. Bourque Sales and Service currently has locations in Lafayette, Houma and Shreveport, Louisiana.

Known for their outstanding customer service, BSS sells a wide variety of products including high pressure flow iron, hydraulic power tongs and a full line of rubber goods for all sections of the oil and gas industry. “We are unique because of the diversification in the product lines we sell and the way we treat our customers as well as our vendors. It is a mutually beneficial relationship that extends to our customers and vendors across state lines,” says Scott.

BSS is a proud member of the Association of Energy Service Companies (AESC) and participates on both a national and local level. They are also active in other non-profit organizations such as Acadiana Outreach and are proud supporters of the UL Ragin’ Cajuns.

As for the future, Bourque Sales and Service plans on continuing to grow through additional locations and product lines. When asked what advice Scott had for other entrepreneurs, he said, “Set goals and expectations, and then work hard to achieve those objectives. That is the key to success.”
